Color

What color will you wear today?

Will it be the grey of gloom?

as you see the light fade away,

or will it be the white of silence?

hoping for the strength to stay,

Maybe all saffron of spirituality then

for in you lies the peace they say,

Touch of resilient purple somewhere

for much do life’s burdens weigh

Subtle serenity of blue will do,

with tiny dots of pink to play

Sprinkle of cheerful yellow drops,

of joys that life will bring your way

Wear the celebratory red then

in faith that all is okay

For hopeful green is the ground below

on which life does it strange ballet
