Red Lipstick

Thinking too much, living for others judgment,
correctness weighing you down, feeling broken and bent

Let self-belief pull you out ,from slow, dark descent
You were born to be you, to be happy to your heart content

Never mind being the misfit, for the check boxes are endless
if it isn't the wrong body, it will be the wrong dress

Too loud , too much isn't classy they say
As if, laughter and beauty have any rules to obey!

So be yourself, no matter how incomplete
Let go of control, you have only you to compete

Smile every morning, dream big to end your day,
Hug with fervor, you're never too old to play

Smear on that fragrance, live, breathe, exist for today
Put a rose in those hair, never mind black, blue or gray

Be in the moment, be extra as can be
wear that red lipstick, for the world to see

Be happy, be yourself without any apology
Love yourself first to be truly free
